apple for teacher!

In this section you can learn, and you are the teacher!

Hopefully, through giving easy answers to common questions, we can begin to "speak the same language".

None of the concepts that are in the simulation world are really that complicated, they just use new terms and terminology.

Please take a few minutes and go through the information below.

  Terminology

Simulation - in this case, a computer program that is written to simulate an environment, and then an activity in the environment, that it would be very difficult or dangerous to do in real life. In all likelihood the activity is something that we may never be able to do like drive a real race car or fly a real plane.

Simulator - in this case, a computer controlled machine that works inside and in concert with the simulation program to allow an activity, in the environment, that we may not be able to do for real, in real life.

DOF - Degree Of Freedom - a description of available motion. There are a total of six all together. they are: pitch, roll, heave, surge, twist, and sway. All six can be used in combination to simulate a motion, the better the simulation, the better the degrees are matched and timed.

  Questions

What is the difference between a simulation and a game?

A simulation is designed and executed to follow the same rules as in reality; the more real the more detailed the simulation, whereas a game can, and will, establish it's own "reality".

Why should we buy your simulator over the other offerings?

Our simulators are all designed and built to be simple, easy to operate, and light on maintenance. They are ready to use as soon as they are received, a few standard hand tools are all that might be needed to assemble and start using them.

We believe that the most important part of our relationship is getting you started, and keeping you running. Jesler takes pride in it's products, and this extends to service, so that you see that the focus is returning the unit to service, not profiting from a disabled machine, while you wait 2 weeks for a foreign part.
